Chocolate Bar packaging design
Dena Rutter design was hired to redesign chocolate bar packaging for 13 unique packages. Using different illustrations for each flavor, Dena was able to create artistic packaging designs that worked as a curated comprehensive set that provided more indication of the flavors of each bar.
The quality of the packaging design is a way to let customers know the quality of the chocolate inside. It is a key branding touchpoint that helps differentiate the product on shelves.
The challenge was to freshen up the French Broad Chocolate brand while not taking away from the brand integrity that they’ve built over the past 18 years. Keeping the light blue while integrating bespoke illustrations and gold foil elevated their look in a crowded landscape.

Additional Packaging
The project also included three separate box designs that would hold different collections of bars. The sets needed to be presented in an distinct way, elegant and sophisticated for a higher price point and attractive for gifting.
Point of Purchase outer boxes were also designed for casing the bars that would be sold wholesale. The was to focus on functionality and brand building, while pulling in elements of the new bar designs.
